Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Ric is quite possibly the greatest foundation professor, and this class helps you prepare for choosing a major by giving you little samples of everything offered at PNCA.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of the course was the animation segment, as it gave me the confidence to switch over from an illustration major even though I never had any experience with animating before.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to take this course anyway, so take it with Ric since he gives the most broad view of all the courses available (plus, he's funny!).

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Rick is an awesome teacher who can make absolutely anything interesting! I wasn't interested in time based art (movies, sound, video, animation, performance) but he made class pretty easy to go to, even at 8 am.

    Course highlights:

We had projects that focused on working with sound and video that used Premiere Pro, and animation that used snapdragon, we did one project with narratives and sequential art, so that was physical media, and we do a group performance piece. He also teaches you about equipment like cameras, and microphones some lights etc.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention to Rick when he's talking. But if you miss anything it's usually on his website. He understands that the first time you go through a program you're not gonna get all the information. You can also email him if you need to.
