Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class for any student in their early math education because the professor is so good at what he does! I have never had a wonderful understanding of math, and I have never really enjoyed it. Professor Diss explained math in a way I had never experienced before. My brain does not do well with numbers, I have a better understanding of words. He put an emphasis on math vocabulary and understanding of terms, and literally wrote out instructions in paragraph form! For a professor to take this amount of time and effort in explanation was just incredible. It gave me a new confidence in my skills, and taught me that I can learn anything with the correct teaching and explanation.

    Course highlights:

The most helpful thing I learned was how to learn math based on my own preferred learning style. I think it is really key to understand how you learn, and this math professor took time to show every individual student a different way of learning what in my experience, can be one of the most difficult things to learn. Math is a different language.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Do your homework right after class, and study it every day! If you wait to long to do the work on your own, it will be so much more difficult than when it is fresh in your mind. By the time you finish it, you will have had the practice to sustain you until the next class.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this online class with this teacher because he explained everything well.

    Course highlights:

It was nice to take this course online. There was a focus on some word problems, and it helped improve my skills in this area.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

This course worked well for me because I still put in the time to do the course work. Some class mates struggled more than I did, usually admitting that they did not have much time to put into working on problems. I would recommend putting aside several chunks of time throughout the week so you stay on track.

    Course Overview:

She's a great teacher and very understandable. Always available and always helpful, and she let's us know about any resources we have available to us. Overall an excellent teacher!

    Course highlights:

I am in this course right now I was in her Math 60 class and she everyone how you could do things differently if one way wasn't working with you. I learned how to do huge fractions and simplify them so that I wouldn't need a calculator.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

It's a one day a week 5 hour course but it is a class worth taking.
