This class was tough.
This course is a great introduction to the history of education in the United States. The largest portion of this course is a 30 hour practicum in an elementary school, where you will spend an additional five hours per week working on.
The practicum was a really informative way to learn about elementary education. I was able to observe classroom behavior, curriculum and teaching styles. Spending as much time as I did weekly in the classroom was a lot of work and took a lot of extra organizing in my schedule, but the work payed off. The reading and writing assignments are also very stimulating and challenging.

Advice for students:
Get your practicum schedule organized as early as possible. Do the reading and writing assignments on time and in a thoughtful manner. Communicate clearly with the professor about any questions or needs.
