    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

First of all, this course is required for a Biology Major and definitely necessary for a Pre-Med. I believe that Garcia's course gives the best fundamentals to help you succeed in following Chemistry and Biology courses.

    Course highlights:

I learned the most fundamental chemical concepts. Although things like bond types, solubility rules, and chemical properties may seem redundant and repetitive when you are learning them, they become VERY relevant in the future, especially in Biology, Organic Chemistry, and Biochemistry. Never underestimate the value of good foundational introductory courses. I also learned the art of problem solving in this course, as Dr. Garcia's questions are always multi-part and thought provoking.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't let yourself get behind! Always do the practice problems.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The class is required for you if you plan to major in a natural science.

    Course highlights:

I learned basics of chemistry which I can then apply to all other courses that I will have to take.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't spend too much time reading the textbook. Go over problems and notes from class.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

It is a very challenging course and it pushes you to work harder.

    Course highlights:

The labs were fun. I learned a lot about Chemistry that I didn't know before.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Don't slack off. Start strong and don't give up. Find a group of people in the course that you can do homework with and study with and someone you can go to with questions.
