Chemistry I focuses on a lot of the beginner concepts of chemistry such as the history of how we viewed the atom, electron behavior, electron configuration, naming compounds, and more.

Take the time to study. A good deal of memorization is required for tasks such as naming compounds. Ask questions during lecture. If you don't get something, don't be afraid to raise your hand because someone else might not get it either.
