    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Paterno is incredibly intelligent. She's almost too intelligent. Her teaching is not always the most thorough and she's really tough with her tests and quizzes. She and her recitation TA's don't always have the best communication. It was hard and a lot of work is involved.

    Course highlights:

I learned the basics of chemistry. I still struggle but I am starting to do better in the second semester of the course. Lewis structures, nomenclature, acids and bases, etc were all covered.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Always do the book problems she assigns and your ALEKS. Every point counts and don't take the quizzes lightly. Make sure you understand the material and go get help if you struggle at all.

    | No strong feelings either way.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Paterno wasn't the best chemistry teacher I've had and would frequently go over difficult topics very rapidly with little explanation, but the course was still easy to get an A in if you put in the effort on your own.

    Course highlights:

I gained a really thorough knowledge of a lot of general chemistry topics

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Always do the ALEKS and the textbook problems really do help

    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

If you didnt take AP Chemistry in high school, this course may be challenging but if you keep up with the book problems she assigns you should do well. This class is all about repetition and practice, if you put in the time you can get a good grade

    Course highlights:

The concepts you learn in this course will reappear in later science courses, particularly Organic

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep up with the book problems
