Not too easy. Not too difficult.
History of Costumes is intended for theatre majors interested in design and construction of period garments, although not at all limited to theatre students. It delves into western fashion from ancient times to modern, with history on the fashion industry and its influences. It's great if you have an interest in fashion design or even sociology. If you are looking for a fun elective that's off the grid, it's a great choice.
The highlight of the course is how historical events impact the clothes we wear. It really put into perspective why we as a society look the way we do today. Also, the instructor puts an emphasis on physical book research, which is helpful for all areas of study, but tends to be more fun for this class.

Advice for students:
Don't be discouraged about the library research or the sketching. It's a lot easier than you think if you just dedicate a small portion of your week to it.
