Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it is simple yet informative. Additionally, Dr. Stringer is engaging, funny, and easy to listen to. His personality makes the class fun. There is never a dull moment.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of this course for me was learning more about the Old Testament, particularly the difference between the minor and major prophets. My favorite prophets to learn about were Micah and Malachi.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

My best advice would be to simply pay attention in class. Dr. Stringer puts all of the notes up on powerpoint which sometimes makes it easy to zone out during the lectures. The best thing you can do is to not surf the internet and actually pay attention to what he is saying.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The teacher spoke poorly about any religion besides Christianity during class time. As well, he expected an in depth knowledge about the bible in a required class. As an agnostic, I don't have too thorough a knowledge on the bible so it often left me feeling at a huge disadvantage.

    Course highlights:

As I did not know very much about the bible at all, this course did provide me with a greater knowledge on it. It also went in depth about the history of the Torah and the Bible as well as the differences between the different translations from the bible. The class also focused on a lot of preaching aspects so if I ever wanted to preach, I know at least one method of doing so.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be sure you have a decent understanding of the bible and can handle the preaching of a teacher with very conservative views. It is stressful with the amount of reading that must be done so having a friend to talk about the material to reinforce it is incredibly beneficial.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I thought the information was interesting, and I enjoyed getting a deeper look into parts of the Bible I had previously ignored.

    Course highlights:

I learned that every part of the Bible is interesting and important, and we as Christians can not ignore the Old Testament.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Study hard for his tests, they are not easy.
