This class was tough.
This is a required class for only certain majors, and it is very challenging. It was well taught, but takes a lot of study and hard work. The class has a lot of explaining power for how chemistry works, and the sheer amount of information was inspiring.
Learning how basic organic compounds are synthesized and through so many routes was a fascinating part of this class. It was amazing how much is involved to get basic compounds, and the best part was that the chemicals follow strict, logical rules. Learning how to apply those rules allowed students to have a good grasp of this subject, but it also comes up all over the place in biology classes.

Advice for students:
This class requires an interesting balance of both memorization and logical thinking. The best way to study for this class was to set about memorizing rules and reagents, but as you look at each one explain why it would work this way why it would function so.
