Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor gave us assignments weekly that greatly helped in the process of writing a research paper! Each section focused on an aspect of the paper, making it flow much nicer when it came to the final paper.

    Course highlights:

By the end of this course, I learned so much more about writing a research paper. I learned that by breaking it into pieces and focusing on bits at a time, research papers do not have to be hard! I also learned that by picking a topic you have genuine interest in, it will make the process that much easier.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

To be successful in this course, make sure you stay ahead of the assignments. Do the assignments earlier in the week rather than the day they are due. Also participate in the discussions, you have to chance to have great conversation and get useful insight from the other students in your class!

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

It's an excellent Intro course for those moving into higher levels of english, specifically in regards to the benefits of reading on writing and of writing on writing. You learn new methods of approach to writing an essay that is succinct without being too short and also to do more than the "5 part method" we had drilled into our heads in high school.

    Course highlights:

I learned whole new ways to approach a text. I got more acquainted with the potential applications for a degree in English which many other majors seem to take for granted as if because I have a degree I just get a job as opposed to the way in which you approach your job hunt should stem from what you've learned from your time in school. I also gained a greater appreciation for literature as a whole expanding my fields of interest to include both many modern writers and those of the canon I'd been putting of reading for years out of an expectation of boredom, or over analyzed ideas.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Go into it with an open mind and expect a fair challenge, it is not the hardest course you've ever taken, but it's not the type of class you'd have had in high school either.
