Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class should be considered essential for any student at Juniata- it was that eye opening. Before this class I was not a very confident speaker, but I took it because I needed it for my secondary emphasis. As a result of this class, I found myself speaking more confidently in class, and being much aware of things that will engage the audience.

    Course highlights:

The highlights would probably be the bigger speeches that we did. The course consisted of several shorter speeches, during which we worked on skills that we would need as public speakers. After a few weeks of this, we began combining the skills into longer speeches. Seeing how much all of the students in class improved over the semester was unbelievable.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The majority of the grading in class comes from the speeches. Grace gives us the phrase "plan, prepare, practice" when discussing how to succeed in her class. Doing each one of these things (especially the practicing) is honestly the best advice.
