Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course provides insight into prevalent issues within the nation regarding race, crime, and how to be globally aware. This course allowed me to realize how my way of thinking was not the same as others, and that it is important to keep an open-mind.

    Course highlights:

I learned about pop-culture from the past, history involving the civil rights era, and important topics such as the Gay Rights Movement and the Black Lives Matter Movement. It was important to learn about these topics because they are prevalent in our politics, economy, and overall our government issues today. I feel more inclined to speak up and share my opinions about matters such as these, because I have been educated on the values that are morally important in society.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to read all the material, including packets, books, articles, etc., that are given to you because they will help you in class discussions regarding the books, and the topics of the books. Put enough planning time into your papers, and sources as well because there is no right or wrong for the material included, as long as you provide enough insight on your opinion and stress the importance of your viewpoint.
