    | Would highly recommend.

    Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

    Lectures and rich and insightful. Exams are fair. Labs are interesting. Reports are fine and are relatively easy if you thoroughly understand what was going on in the labs. The professor will do the best he can to aid students looking for help succeed in understanding the material.

    Course highlights:

    Different kinds of instrumentation used in analysis and the main parts that make up the instruments as well as what some of those parts are made of. Under what conditions to use which instrument and which parts. Worked with IR, UV, AAS, and HPLC among other things. Learned how to analyze data obtained from the different instruments as well as what that data meant and its significance.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

    Take careful notes in lecture. Like any other course, time needs to be dedicated outside of lecture to learn the material. Do the homework because it really helps gear you up for the exams

    Professor VanOmmeren is a phenomenal instructor of chemistry! She shares her breadth of knowledge gracefully, and this translates to an intense class packed with learning!

    Course highlights:

    Large amount of fundamental chemistry information that truly builds a solid foundation for further study in the field.

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

    If you pay attention in class and do all of your homework, an "A" is easily achievable in this course!
