    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Teacher is great, little stress, fun to go to the required concerts

    Course highlights:

The required concerts were really fun to go to because I had not known of them previously. They allowed me to get out there and experience something new. Also the listening tests were kind of fun because I was hearing pieces I had heard of but never really listened to before.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Remember to go to the concerts and get the programs from them, study for the tests and you'll be fine, the listening tests aren't hard as long as you start studying for them in advance instead of the night before

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Music appreciation is a enjoyable course that doesn't challenge you to get out of bed to attend it. Dr. Young does a great job giving definitions and explaining concepts to make students who are unfamiliar with music feel comfortable with the subject and understand the subject better.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were learning about different composers than the ones that are most commonly heard of. Aside from the introduction to new music, I learned deeper history with the composers and music I was already familiar with.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

The only advice I can give for this course is to read the chapters assigned and to make sure you complete every assessment that is given. We were given around 30 assessments throughout the semester, so even though they were worth 10 points each, they added up and really help your grade if you do well on them.
