Ann and Joy teach the second half of the course and are exceptional and teaching you information for succeeding in the course!
You learn medical-surgical in the class and then get to incorporate what you've learned in a clinical setting. Each week you get a few patients and focus on their disease. The instructors challenge you to dig deep and understand why specific disease processes are happening to these patients.

Advice for students:
Go to class and take really good notes. You can even take recorders to record what the professors say. The professors practice NCLEX style questions that pertain to the material, which is very helpful. Read the ATI books or at least do the practice questions in the ATI and MedSurg books that are required.
