    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class is incredibly interesting and Dr. Qualls is very knowledgeable when it comes to the literature we are reading. It is a difficult course though, and I find myself being challenged with every assignment.

    Course highlights:

To me, the highlight was the drama we read this semester. I surprised myself by enjoying it as much as I did, but the poetry section was also another high point. I'm not a fan of poetry at all, and I find myself struggling whenever I have to read some, but Dr. Qualls helped us understand what we were reading and made it to where I could glean most of the poem's meaning on my own.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always do the reading! There will be a lot of discussion concerning whatever was assigned to read and there is a good chance that you'll be called on, so make sure you read carefully. Also, the quizlets for the glossary terms are very helpful.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would definitely recommend this course! When I started the semester, I only knew that I wanted to major in English...now, I have a feel for the major and what I want to do with it.

    Course highlights:

I learned about novels, poetry, short stories, and film as literary genres.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

As long as you are prepared to put some work in, you'll do great in this class.
