    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would certainly recommend taking Intro. to Financial Accounting with Professor Krivacek. This course lays the foundation of many of the higher accounting courses and he truly cares about his students and ensures that they understand all of the material.

    Course highlights:

By taking this course not only did I gain an understanding of much of the accounting foundation, but I also learned the importance of understanding all the content because steps in accounting tend to build from the previous steps. I learned a lot about the operations of public corporations and how they do their reporting, about analyzing financial statements, and about the accounting rules and regulations.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise students taking this course to come to class and do the homework. If they don't understand something, I would advise them to get help from the professor because nothing goes away. Ideas in accounting build upon one another.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to anyone with thoughts of starting their own small business. Even if their field of study is not business, accounting teaches vital fundamentals that will help an entrepreneur maintain a financially stable business.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to prepare financial statements, how to account for business purchases, depreciation of certain assets as well as a practical use for Excel.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Familiarize yourself with Excel. It will make preparing financial statements much easier. Specifically learn how to use formulas and cell references. This will allow you to make interchangeable templates for your financial statements.
