    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would not recommend this course due to the fact that students in the other physics courses had a much easier grading scale, less work to do, easier assignments, and earned better grades doing an easier job in the same class. To show that this isn't just a sob story of a lousy student, I spent weeks with Dr. Shaevitz in his office hours studying but when I would complete assignments, many times we had already went over the questions that I had. So, I would write them out exactly how we did. Each problem was out of 20 points. If I received a 5/20 on one problem, that was a good job. In general, this concept applied throughout the semester and I almost received a C in the class even though I literally spent the time of a full time job studying, the highest grade I received on an exam was a 57%. The thing is, it was rare for me to actually get a wrong answer. So I found the answers but still failed, which is not right.

    Course highlights:

To be honest, I do not have any highlights from this course. A few things that we did in lab were fun though.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

A lot of his problems have to do with multiple equations mixed together in some way. This did circles on me because he would not explain why it was that way. I felt lost many times throughout solving each problem. Work as closely with him as you can to solve these problems.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Many people would not recommend this course and I understand why. The professor is very tough and the curriculum is a lot to take in but it is a great way to learn the difference between high school classes and college. It is also a good way learning where you stand personally with handling hard courses and getting a feel for the college life.

    Course highlights:

I gained a lot from this course, not only curriculum wise but out of class wise also. The curriculum was a lot of basic physics knowledge and you also learn new concepts from what you may have learned in a high school course. I also learned a lot of time management skills and communication skills between my professor and my classmates.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Advice I would give is study, study, study. Always ask for help when needed, even if you feel dumb for asking. Always try your best, and never ever get down on yourself.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend the class because Dr. Ford makes physics fun and easy to learn.

    Hours per week:

    Advice for students:

Have an open mind, and think outside the box for objects movement
