Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class is a great introduction to Organic Chemistry. It covers all of the basic components of Orgo like reactions schemes and mechanisms, naming, and drawing molecules. It involves a lab which helps to enforce what you would be learning in class.

    Course highlights:

Some important curriculum in the course include naming and reaction mechanisms. These are covered in the first week and used for the rest of the semester, so it is great to have a foundation in a few different areas and be able to build off of them instead of learning completely new things each week.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Keep up with all assignments and reading. It is very easy to fall behind in this course if one is not keeping up with the material in class. It is extremely beneficial to read the textbook chapter after the class where that material is taught. Then, always use the professor's practice questions to further enhance your understanding of the material. Study for exams a week ahead of time by practicing the material. Simply reading will not be enough to enforce the content, but practicing helps a lot.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Its very important for science majors when understanding biological processes.

    Course highlights:

The labs were really interesting and fun. I learn a lot about synthesizing molecules.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not put this course on the back burner. Really try to review your notes every day

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Henry Is a very good teacher. She is very enthusiastic about organic chemistry and she is very helpful. She makes sure that she is preparing everyone to do well int he class and it is very difficult to fail unless you do not do any work whatsoever!

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of the course was learning how to name larger molecules. It was like a puzzle and so many parts go together that when you figure the name out, it is an amazing feeling!

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

You should definitely do your reading and do the assigned practice problems because it helps a lot! Go to all the review sections, do the review problem sets and go get help if needed!
