Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course. It is overwhelming at times and fast pace but it can help you determine what field of biology you are interested in. You learn a large array of different subjects in biology and it will prepare you for upper level courses.

    Course highlights:

For me the highlight of this course was figuring out what field of study I was interested in. Toward the end of the course you learn many things about cancer and cancer research which I personally found interesting.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure biology is your passion. There will be certain parts of the course that is difficult to grasp but they are important to understand. It is a tough field to of study but if you love it then the end results will be very rewarding.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The professor pays attention to how every student is doing and makes sure that you have many opportunities to seek help when needed. The course work is not too heavy and the tests are fairly straightforward. My only dislike with the course was that group work was heavily stressed, so if you do not like working in teams you may find this annoying.

    Course highlights:

I gained an extensive knowledge of human genetics, cell reproduction, cell mutations, cancerous cells, cell communication and signaling, and mitosis and meiosis.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you look over the information given in class every night to help prepare for the tests. Do not wait until the night before to study for a test. Instead, set aside 30 - 60 minutes a night to review the information and ask the professor any questions you might have. PAy attention and take notes during class and you should be fine.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I felt like this class was mostly covered by the AP Biology course in high school but Dr. Richard was a great teacher and made lecture interesting.

    Course highlights:

My favorite part of this class was when we discussed the genetics of cancer.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure you study! As long as you either read the text or take notes in lecture, you'll be perfectly fine.
