    | Would recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course for the science GenEd requirement at Temple. I would especially recommend it for incoming students who are unsure about their major and want an introduction to the Environmental Studies field. This course swayed me to change my major from Journalism to ES. Professor Schlosser is very fair and his lectures are very clear and informative.

    Course highlights:

This course gave an extremely thorough overview of not just environmental issues but also human philosophy behind the Earth and how we've viewed it throughout the span of our history. The course was not too fatalistic and offered constructive solutions as to how we can begin to heal environmental degradation. The class lent itself to dialogue on issues scientific, political, philosophical, and religious and truly showed how multi-faceted environmental conversations can be.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Take notes on the information given in the professor's power points and definitely do the assigned readings. They are not only interesting, but the answers to many of the test questions can be found in here. In fact, read them more than once and do the study guides he provides.

This course was an excellent experience! It was an enjoyable class to attend with an even more pleasant professor! I learned a lot of useful information about today's world. I highly suggest taking this course!

    Course highlights:

I feel more knowledgable about what is happening in the world around us. I found all the information learned regarding social, economic and environmental sustainability is extremely useful to apply to our lives to make a path for a better tomorrow.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

I highly suggest that you attend every lecture because that is what you will be tested on. Take careful and thorough notes not just from the slides, but from the discussions thought class. The exams are all short answer, so always study for them to ensure you know the material.
