    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This class provided a safe place for students to talk about race and learn about the struggles of others. Professor Heard taught the class as a seminar without ostracizing anyone for their beliefs or ideas. Overall, the discussions in this class were interesting and productive.

    Course highlights:

As a white student at an extremely diverse college, this class gave me an academic setting to learn about minorities and racial issues in our society and provided insights on how Americans can improve the racial climate in our country. The class explains the origins of some phenomena and explains topics like housing inequality, racial stereotyping, and issues with incarceration and policing in American society.
