Course Overview:
Professor Casella made this course vastly more approachable and made the learning requirements much easier to understand. Whether you were proficient at mathematics or it was your weakest subject he could articulate these methods to solve problems in a way you can understand. Professor Casella gave realistic examples that allowed people to put these calculus problems into a context that seemed relatable. When he did that he was able to have the class participate more enthusiastically. Thus, allowing the students to keep an interest which allows them to consume more information and retain the information.
Course highlights:
I learned several business formulas such as profit formulas, rates of change, maximum profit, minimum cost and several other useful methods. Advice for students:
Utilize the online program MyMathLab as much as you can. There is so much more to that program than the homework and quizzes that are assigned. There are practice questions that have infinite variations to help you study for tests. There is the online electronic textbook that has review questions, practice tests, and answers to check your own. I would also advise vocalizing any concerns you may have. The teacher may not cover all the topics with the review handouts or on the review day. Make sure you cover all your bases and allow yourself to perform at your best.
This class was tough.
