Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I am not an English person at all, but this class really allowed me to explore literature in a way that was fun and easy for me to understand. Professor Schlauraff is the best professor I have ever had as she made class so enjoyable, encouraged participation in unconventional yet comfortable ways, and taught us to analyze texts in ways I have never been taught before.

    Course highlights:

I learned how to really write papers and how to structure and organize my thoughts within papers. I learned how to look for themes and ideas in texts that could be applied to our world today and that reveal something about the characters and the text as a whole. I learned how to have confidence in my abilities as a reader and writer. Most importantly, I learned how to listen to others and to share my ideas in a effective and respectful manner.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always do the assignments as they will obviously help with class discussions the following day. The class discussions were my favorite part of class and I would not have been able to participate if I hadn't read what was assigned.
