Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class opens your eyes to the family systems and how they function. It gives you a new outlook on what defines a family as well as how social workers help play the advocate roles for families.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was doing a genogram of my family using three generations. I had to do a lot of family research to find out the generational cycles in my family as well as history as to how my family system was structured. It was fun to do interviews with family members for different perspectives.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell all students to truly focus on the information given. The information will definitely have you look at your family structure in a different perspective. Also, studying the different concepts from Minuchin, Bowen and more will help you understand the structure of how a family is developed.
