    Professor Ghodsi takes the course seriously. Hw does many examples and tries his best to make sure you retain the material

    Course highlights:

    I learned a lot about equlibrium, trusses, and other topics that have proven to be important

    Advice for students:

    Make sure you keep up with the homework, and study your notes for quizzes and exams.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

    Ever wonder why skyscrapers and bridges don't collapse? It is because the forces involved are distributed throughout the strongest parts of the individual members. It's amazing to think that something so massive can be analyzed on a piece by piece scale and then enlarged to describe the whole structure. Statics was a very eye opening course and broadened my understanding of static engineering.

    Course highlights:

    I had the opportunity to work with others and alone on projects related to stable structures. I was also encouraged to discover on my own how to design the most effective structure within certain parameters.

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

    If you are considering taking statics, I would strongly suggest understanding the material the same day you take notes on it in class. It will make the homework easier to manage and allow you the opportunity to ask your teacher questions in a timely manner.
