    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Good class to learn about basic economics, but the professor that taught the class could have given many more resources to aid students.

    Course highlights:

Learned about how economics work, both on a macro and micro scale.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Make sure to use your TAs or professor's office hours as much as you can, especially when confused. Studying in groups is also recommended.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I came into this with absolutely no background knowledge, and was pleasantly surprised by how well this covered all the facets of economics. It is, after all, called "principles of economics." This means that the class doesn't get super specific on any one topic, but the general overview is great. Professor Friedberg is a personable and engaging prof – despite Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings of 9am ECON, I was always motivated to go to class. Despite my earlier ignorance of ECON, and the fact that I took this class on a whim, I am considering taking further classes in teh subject.

    Course highlights:

I learned what some of the buzzwords in news headlines actually mean! I genuinely felt that this class enhanced my "real world" understanding.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Always stay on top of the reading. Study in groups for all of the exams, and attend TA review sessions only if you feel that they are a supportive use of your time. Feel free to "shop around" with TAs – you have to attend your TA's weekly section, but you can go to anyone with questions.
