Not too easy. Not too difficult.
Course Overview:
The professor really wants you to learn so he will challenge you with some difficult questions on the homework, but class notes are very helpful. He is extremely organized and approachable. The exams are similar to the homework questions, so as long as you can understand those problems you should be okay.
Course highlights:
I really liked the material in linear algebra. You learn a lot about matrices, systems of equations, and other material that helps in later math courses. I applied what I learned in this course in other classes such as Applied Math and Analysis and Optimization. The concepts are good to know even though they may seem abstract.
Hours per week:
3-5 hours
Advice for students:
Don't be intimidated by the somewhat abstract concepts (i.e. vector space, span, eigen values, etc) it is very easy to understand if you can understand the definitions and the basis for the rest of the problems. Take the class! It was one of my favorite classes in the math major.
