    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would not recommend this course because we did not really do anything, which some people may think is great but I find discouraging. I paid for this course, I was hoping to get more out of it.

    Course highlights:

We did two speeches on the same topic, the rest of our classes were spent preparing for these speeches or going over the elements of communication.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

If you are going to this course, I would recommend taking the honors version if you can because they teach you a lot more and you can learn real skills to use when you do public speaking.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course if you are in the major or pursuing it as a minor. It was a relatively easy class that I feel I only partially needed.

    Course highlights:

This course focused mainly on being a public speaker and learning different aspects of communication between peoples.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I recommend keeping up with the notes and making sure that you are well prepared for your speeches. They may seem easy but practice makes it much easier.

    | Would highly recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I recommend this course because communication is such a vital part of our lives. You need to be able to communicate and read people and gauge situations in order to be successful in life. This class did just that. I became a much better communicator by the time I finished the course.

    Course highlights:

There wasn't one assignment the class did that we couldn't take away and apply it to our lives. I learned how to read body language. I learned how to scan an audience. I learned how to create a very successful presentation and get up in front of the class and present my information in a way everyone could follow and understand. I got over my severe fear of presenting. This class taught me how to study my information and have confidence in myself. I learned how to conduct myself in front of a class so I was believable and professional.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

You need to pay attention to the assignments. They are there to help you succeed at your last big presentation. Also study a lot. Rehearse your speeches 100 times and then 100 times more. Also make sure you pick topics you are passionate about. It will make your presentation a million times better than if you picked a topic you don't really care for.
