    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I've heard many, many negative things about taking this course with Gobeille. Complaints ranged from his dry sense of humor to the amount of work that is put into the course. While I agree that his humor is dry, it's also the same humor that I enjoy so I loved it. As for the work-- yes, there is a lot but Dr. Gobeille makes it as simple as possible for you to get a good grade. He WANTS you to get a good grade, believe it or not. Put in the effort and you will absolutely be satisfied with the course.

    Course highlights:

I had to withdraw before the end of the semester due to unforeseen circumstances, but I genuinely enjoyed the course. It's fascinating. More than anything. I learned a better work ethic and better time management skills because of this course due to the amount of work it required.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Absolutely, 100%, without a doubt, do the work. Pay attention in class. Don't miss class. Take advantage of the extra credit. Go to office hours. Ask questions. Study. Get the book.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I'd recommend this course because it is extremely educational but also fun at the same time. We always talked about other planets that may be sustainable to live on and watched videos on our satellites and where they currently are. On top of that we learned all about constellations and what they are.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about what it takes for planets to be considered livable. I also learned about the history of the universe and how we began to study it since day one.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

The best advice that I can give is to LISTEN to you professor. They usually understand that astronomy is a hard subject to grasp so if you listen to what he/she puts emphasis on, that's what's usually on the test/quiz.
