Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course materials were very helpful for me. They weren't overwhelming, but they were through. Dr. Schoolfield is a very precise and clear teacher. She also helped me to improve my writing skills with the discussion posts and essays.

    Course highlights:

Learning the ups and downs of the Roman Empire was my favorite!

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Be prepared to put some decent time and effort into this course.

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I actually took this course online and it was pretty easy. Everything on the site was easy to understand and the professor did an excellent job teaching the material. If you are interested in history this is a great class to take, but if you are not than that is okay because the teacher will make it easy to understand. There are a few quizzes that you may use your notes for, and practice tests really helped me with the real tests. Although this was a mandatory class for me and not in my area of interest, I enjoyed it, overall, and was happy with my grade.

    Course highlights:

This is a course on history since the beginning of time so I learned a lot. The course does not continue all the way to the present day, but the history of early civilizations was fascinating. I learned about the ancient Chinese cultures, the Incas, the Mayas, and ancient Roman cultures. The professor discussed the Dark Ages and the history of Buddhism and Islam, and many other things.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

I took this semester course over a six week period in summer school, so unless you have hours a day to work on it, I would suggest taking this course over an entire semester. I would also suggest taking good notes and studying the practice tests and quizzes before a test.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Schoolfield made history come alive in this class. For a person that absolutely hated history growing up, I found myself looking forward to this class every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.

    Course highlights:

This class went beyond just memorizing the names, dates, and places. You were able to see the reasons why behind almost every fact of history. It is all one big story that connects everything together, in ways that you would not have imagined possible before

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Be willing to put forth effort. This class is not like your normal history class where you just have to memorize things. You have to get inside the thinking of those of whom you are studying. Once you do that, history will come alive for you as well.
