Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Dr. Silver is very passionate about this course, which makes it easy to learn the material. She engages the students in every lecture and uses relevant video examples. Tests are heavily based on lecture, so be sure to take thorough notes in class. Attendance is crucial, and be sure to complete the guided questions to reading assignments. This will help tremendously on exams. Also, be sure to take advantage of the extra credit essay, it's a big grade booster.

    Course highlights:

I loved the content of the lectures. Professor Silver was great at keeping students interested. I love how she applied sociological concepts to video examples of modern day music videos, movies, and TV shows. The curriculum of this course was applicable to everyday human scenarios, which I found very interesting.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

TAKE DETAILED NOTES IN CLASS! Attendance is very necessary to do well.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend taking this class. You will learn so much and will be able to apply it into your own life. Professor Silver makes the class very enjoyable as well. She brings so much energy that it makes you want to learn. I had her class every Tuesday and Thursday after work. Coming from a morning shift I am always tired but once her class starts I am suddenly awakened. The class is very interesting and professor silver just makes it better.

    Course highlights:

I have gained a new understanding of how social norms affect or everyday life. In a way, we are all socially connected. Most of our mainstream culture norms come from almost the same source.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Take notes! Take lots of notes because they will be on exams and quizzes

    | No strong feelings either way.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

I would only recommend this class to those who have an interest in learning about the dynamics of a family, otherwise you may find the class to be a bit boring

    Course highlights:

I gained an understanding of how divorce can affect a child's future. The different statistics behind family poverty and which ethnicity have a larger group in that category.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Some advice I would give is to make sure to do all of the online quizzes because that is the majority of your grade. And there are only 2 essays throughout the semester which is nearly half of your final grade.
