    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course was rigorous yet captivating, and truly something I believe refines salient skills that you will see as invaluable in your other classes as well. It was a small class which featured assignments and projects deliberately chosen to be useful for your overall understanding of rhetoric and civil life.

    Course highlights:

You gain invaluable skills such as refined, concise and excellent writing skills with many different styles of writing, you learn the art of persuasion, how to be civil and what it means to be civil through the exploration of civil engagement, and you become comfortable and personable while giving many different speeches and presentations such as your own TED talk filmed in a studio. These speaking and writing skills which center around worldly skills and help you excel in other classes are extremely valuable and will help you throughout your time at Penn State.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

My advice to student considering this course is that you will get as much out of it as you put in. You will grow in a lot of facets if you take criticism and refrain from procrastination. Submitting work that is thoughtful and meaningful takes time and it will certainly reflect in your grade.
