    | Probably wouldn’t recommend.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This seems like a course with an easy topic, but when they changed the course, they made the exams very difficult and tried to trick you on some questions.

    Course highlights:

I needed to take this course for my major (Biology Vertebrae Physiology). This course teaches you about environmental issues and how populations are reacting to the earth changing. It also gives you insight into the structures of ecosystems all the way from the abiotic features, the chemical features, animals, plants, and humans. If you are looking to work in the environment, this is definitely a course that should be considered.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

They use a tool called "Simbio" that is where the homework is given and the subjects are discussed in more detail here than in lecture. I recommend actually reading through (not just clicking the answers) these sections and really getting an understanding of the topic before going to class. I downloaded the PowerPoints and wrote my notes on them which was helpful for studying. When it came time for the exams, I used the PowerPoints to study off of because I found when I used Simbio it was a waste of time. Go to class because you need all the Clicker points you can get in this class because the exams are difficult.

    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This class was a major requirement but I found it to be useful in other biology classes, particularly upper level courses that required a background knowledge in populations and basic genetic variants.

    Course highlights:

I gained a better understanding of populations, genetics and how communities and ecosystems work together to achieve a well balanced world.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Study, Study, Study! This course was not for the faint of heart and required alot of time and effort in making sure that you got the right answers, knew the right questions that would be asked on tests and such. Well worth the effort, though.
