    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Personally, I do not enjoy anything about historical speeches. There is a paper due on one or more speeches each week. The career I am going into will never require me to write a big speech and present it.

    Course highlights:

I gained massive headaches. That is it. This class is completely unnecessary.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Start working on the papers quickly, and do not fall behind in the reading.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would not recommend this course, mainly because this is not a typical Communications Class; the vast majority of the work is just analyzing speeches and learning rhetorical devices. This teacher grades very difficultly, and the directions for assignments aren't very explicit. Also, it's difficult to keep up with the deadlines.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course, for me, were the projects in which we were able to pick which speeches and artifacts we analyzed. I also enjoyed creating videos of my speeches, and watching the speeches of my classmates online. I learned how to effectively review a speech based on rhetorical devices.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Ask the teacher how she wants assignments done, ALWAYS cite your sources in correct format, and NEVER turn in an assignment late; late work isn't given any credit.
