    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Math 110 is a challenging but is necessary for real world challenges. I gave this course 4 stars not because of the course itself but because of Dr. Mareno. Math can be very boring, especially in a 1 and a half hour lecture every Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. But Dr. Mareno is so passionate about this topic, her face lights up when she gets excited about a certain topic and it makes you think, "what is she seeing that I don't?"

    Course highlights:

I really enjoyed how the course made it relatable to your major. It gives examples for engineers and for business majors. The textbook helps with explaining a lot of topics and gives about 7-8 examples per chapter which helps you look at each topic from multiple perspectives.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

Some of best advice I can give to anyone looking to take Math 110 is to study, study, study. When I first starting taking this class, I thought it was easy and didn't really take it seriously. I would ignore the homework assignments and only show up test day. That lasted for about 2 weeks because I realized that the text book does a good job at explaining, but Dr. Mareno did a phenomenal job at explaining and helping you understand each and every topic.
