    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

SOC 119 is a class that allows students to get different perspectives about the issue of race in today's world. Sam's lectures are always relevant to what is happening all over the world in present time, and he makes an effort to make these lectures engaging.

    Course highlights:

The first day of class, Sam (the professor) began by explaining his view on education. He emphasized the importance of actually learning material, rather than simply getting good grades. He uses this philosophy to structure his class; students aren't required to take notes, and there are no tests or final exams. Students are welcome to just sit in the class and absorb what he is saying. Additionally, the topics Sam lectures about are current issues in the world that most students have heard about or experienced firsthand, making the information in the course more relevant.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

There a couple of quizzes throughout the semester that require you to read/watch the videos and articles that are posted on the SOC119 website. I recommend that you view these resources, otherwise you will end up guessing the answers on the quiz. Additionally, you must do weekly video responses which aren't hard, just make sure you do them. These responses allow you to share your opinions and feelings about the lectures in class, along with respond to your peer's responses.

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

A simple intriguing course that will make you think in all different aspects in a situation. This course will make you feel awkward, sad, empowered, and last but not least it is a fun course.

    Course highlights:

That every day was different. No lecture felt the same regardless if we were discussing the same topic. Even the weekly group discussions felt natural and it wasn't hard to think of what to say since so much was covered within lecture.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Always do the reading and watch all the videos, but don't do them all the night before a quiz.
