Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course as well as any other of Dr. Huck's classes because he is a great professor. He makes all of the lessons interesting and engaging as well as hands-on. This class is a hybrid class which means that the lessons are being video recorded and broadcasted to another classroom at another campus through "poly-cam". This is a new class format that is still working out some issues, but it is interesting to be involved in this type of classroom experience. This also means that some of the coursework involves doing assignments online giving us about 1/3 of normal course days off to work online. I like this type of course more compared to a traditional and strictly "in-class" setting.

    Course highlights:

We learn about many different severe and persistent mental illnesses, the history of mental illness, and what it is like to live with these types of disorders. We also learn about treatments and other aspects related to different mental illnesses.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The best way to succeed in this class is to attend all the classes and pay attention. Any time you do not understand a concept or have a general question, ask. Dr. Huck will be happy to answer any question no matter what it is. He really shows us that he wants each and every one of us to succeed now and in our future careers. Also, take advantage of the fact that Dr. Huck allows his students to send him drafts of papers for the class (and even any of your other classes) for him to proofread, show you your mistakes, and give you tips on how to write your papers.
