    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

This course is extremely helpful for anyone that wishes to pursue a psychology career. As far as I know, it is only offered at PSU and possibly one other state school. We covered paths that a psychology student could take after college, common psychology myths, discussed the format of psychological studies, and much more.

    Course highlights:

This material discussed in this class will do more then just prepare you for an exam- it will prepare you for life after college. Personally, I want to go to med school after my undergrad. My professor went into great detail about how I would go about doing that, the pros and the cons, the requirements, and typical problems. However, I also know about what it takes to apply to graduate programs, jobs right out of college, and how to pursue a career as a social worker, industrial organization psychologist, therapist, school councilor, and psychiatrist. Most courses teach you how to be a student; psych 105 teaches you about your future as a graduate.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

Pay attention in class! Although you may be able to get away on the exams and papers without paying attention, it will help you in the future. This isn't a class you sit through because you have to; this is the kind of class that you are involved in because it is about you, your interests, and your future. My professor answered every and all questions that we had, and he didn't have time because he had to continue the lecture, we all knew that we were welcome to email him, go to office hours, or come up to him before or after class with questions.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course to anyone! Andrew Peck is outstanding, he makes sure everyone understands the material that is taught while also making the class interesting and fun. I enjoyed this class very much and I highly suggest taking Professor Peck if given an opportunity.

    Course highlights:

The highlight of the course had to be the amount of information I learned about Psychology as a Science and as a Profession. I learned the exact paths that I could take after earning my psychology degree, and I figured out what I want to do. I think this is a very useful course if you are a psychology major.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Attend all the lectures, do the readings, and you will have a great semester taking this course!

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course with the specific professor I took the class with. This is a very difficult course, don't let the number "105" throw you off. But, you learn so much. I actually learned a number of things that I was able to apply to my other psychology courses, in a very direct way. Its good material, and really good lessons are included int this course. Including life lessons that you truly will carry with you throughout your college career. This is overall a helpful course, with an extremely helpful professor. Dr. Peck will quite literally do anything and everything to help his students in any way possible.

    Course highlights:

Highlights of this course were the relate-able exampled to every lesson we were taught, that really helped us absorb the information we were learning at the time. Dr. Peck really tried hard to make sure we did experiments and assignments that weren't meant to keep us busy, but helped us comprehend, and apply material. I learned how to properly study for classes in this course. Dr. Pecks degree specializes in the absorption of information, so he would always give us great tips on how to study for other classes, and if we needed, to pull successful all nighters and cramming sessions. (although these are not recommended!)

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

My biggest suggestion would be time management. This course can be quite barely and enjoyable if you can manage your time wisely. Also, start studying for the tests about a week to 4 days ahead of time. Just do it, you won't regret it.
