    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

The knowledge I have learned in this course was not only interesting, stimulating and well presented, but also has shown up in conversations and every day events that I experience. The course is challenging, enough to force you to buckle down, study hard and sink your teeth in the material. Still, I have come away from this class joyous that I know the information.

    Course highlights:

I was delighted to find that coming out of this course, I had 'new favorites'. In other words, I discovered organisms that I was fond of and am still passionate about to know more. Bio luminescent dinoflagellates, Diatoms, Ascomycota and Natural Killer cells have all made their way onto my bucket list of things to study in the future. Overall in the course, I was illuminated on life on Earth as a whole. Bacteria, protozoa, fungi and animals, all walks of the three domains of life were given their due time to be discussed.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

In this course, you should extend you reach to all the extra resources you are given. Taking notes on the supplementary readings and in lecture are vital to passing the exams. While there is other course material to buffer your exam scores, exams still make up the majority of your course grade.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This course is very challenging, but in the long run is a huge help. The teacher is the way she is to make sure you succeed. Without her being strict on assignments, most students would fail.

    Course highlights:

The professor touched on anything and everything in the biological world; from macroscopic to things visible to the human eye.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Definitely put a considerably large amount of time aside for studying and reviewing the material learned in the class.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because it is an entry level biology course necessary for Biology majors. It is interesting and Dr. Julian keeps the class involved with group activities and experiments.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were learning about genetics. We learned about genetic variation and how alleles from both parents can affect genetic makeup in the offspring.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

It is recommended to study after every lecture. Read the chapters in the books and make notes that correlate with the notes taken in class.
