    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I believe that nutrition can really relate to anyone because we all eat. I think that everyone can gain a great deal of knowledge by understanding the intake and metabolism of food creating the nutrition that it our make-up. We truly are what we eat and by learning the basics and introductory principles we can all take something away from this course and hopefully improve our diets to improve our overall health in the present and future.

    Course highlights:

I learned the basics of nutrition. I learned about the macro and micro nutrients that food provides as well as potential sources of these nutrients. I also learned the introductory metabolism of these foods and how they provide energy for our bodies. I felt it relevant that we learned what foods were healthful, discovering some common misconceptions about nutrition and assimilating ourselves into a healthy mindset creating healthful eating habits.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

The biggest recommendations for success are to attend class regularly. During most classes, a great discussion will erupt which allows students to engage and learn through interactive question and answer. I believe that in most cases, this is the best way to learn because you create an interactive dynamic that allows students to really expand their knowledge depth about the subject. I would also recommend always reading the textbook. Most professors write their slides after reading the relevant chapters and by reading the book you will summarize everything that you learned in class.

    Advice for students:

I would tell students to do the extra credit that is given because they only boost your grade up. I would also tell students that you should attend class everyday because you don't know what you'll miss and her notes are not online.
