Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would highly recommend this course for anyone who simply wants to understand the African American culture and their history in the United States.

    Course highlights:

I have learned so much more than I would easily admit. I love music as well as dancing, but I never really knew where they rooted from until I took this course. I even learned how discrimination based on skin color is a huge problem in this country. Not only was I learning history, I was actually developing my reading skills from all the readings we were assigned.

    Hours per week:

    9-11 hours

    Advice for students:

It is hard but if you do what you have to do, you will be fine. If you need extra help, find a tutor like I did. Good Luck !

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I enjoy the engagement that we are forced to have in this class, and the topics of this course means a lot to me as well. I have fun having little debates about the topics we discuss in this course. You also learn a lot about African American history that you never saw in textbooks growing up.

    Course highlights:

I've learned different points of view, and how to agree to disagree. I've learned about so many great black people in history that is the reason for many, many, many things we are even able to live the way we do today that you never hear about growing up. Also, different points of view about African American history.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

I would say that as long as you actually read, do the work, and engage in class you will be fine. The reading is actually interesting reading. Also, read to not just retain information for the test, but to be more enlightened of self.
