    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

Awesome course for nursing students! It provides a good foundation on three different kinds of chemistry (general, organic, and biochemistry) without the need to take these as three separate classes. Dr. Freeman genuinely cares about your success and gives you plenty of opportunities to earn extra points and do well. If you work hard you absolutely will do well.

    Course highlights:

I have learned vital information that will be helpful in caring for patients during the clinical portion of my education, such as mixing solutions and differentiating between different types of biochemical material (e.g. L-glucose versus D-glucose) that could help or harm a patient. Most importantly, I have learned to think critically and study hard, skill that will take me far in this program.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Go to the Supplemental Instruction (SI) sessions, especially during the Organic Chemistry portion of the class. The material is tough, and class time goes by quickly. The SI sessions were absolutely vital to me doing well.
