Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

This class goes beyond the typical class of regurgitating pointless facts, it helps to give students the tools needed to use their skills of cognitive thinking to look at society and world events in a new way. This professor goes beyond the class curriculum to teach her students lessons that will help them throughout their lives.

    Course highlights:

This class covers the Theoretical Paradigms and how to apply them to specific social situations. The class also goes over the effects that culture, history, upbringing, and the social building blocks have on how people interact, react, and act.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

I would recommend buying the required text book for this class ONLY if you are the type of student who typically needs to walk through each chapter thorough and repeatedly in order to understand it. Otherwise, you can do well in the class perfectly fine by just showing up for lecture.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Ms. Chidester used current events (the 2016 election, riots) to explain the topics we were going over in class. She also has a Facebook page where she posts articles relating to the class. I haven't been in her class for half a year and I still enjoy seeing her articles.

    Course highlights:

I liked our class discussions and group activities. My favorite one was discussing how different percentages of the population lives with different amounts of income and wealth with different amounts of Tootsie Rolls.

    Hours per week:

    0-2 hours

    Advice for students:

There were a good amount of weekly assignments due where you answered questions about articles pertaining to the unit. I was in a shorter class and also taking a higher level class so I sometimes slacked with these assignments. So do the weekly assignments!!
