    | Would recommend.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this class to the student who is interested in science and who is disciplined to study and apply themselves outside of the class. It is detailed and for me hard due to the fact that the last biology class I had in high school was as a freshman.

    Course highlights:

I learned the nature of life, including it's chemical foundations. Focus was on plant, animal and human cell structure and function; DNA and genetics; as well as evolution and ecology.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would suggest that you read and re-read the assignments on the day they are assigned. Studying with a partner is a good way to see a different perspective and possibly gain insight.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend taking this course because the professor is great and you will learn a lot on the subject from him and the lab is fun.

    Course highlights:

You learn a lot about different cells and what they do and different things that go on in the human body.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

study the lecture material and the book because he uses info from both on the test

    | No strong feelings either way.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

The course itself is fairly easy, and some of my classes finish in only 15 minutes. However, it also comes with a weekly lab, which can take anywhere from 20 minutes to 2 hours, not counting the postlab work.

    Course highlights:

It was mainly review, but the lab that comes with it gives you a unique experience to look at things much more closely than high school ever allowed, and the things that you work with are often very interesting. I learned a lot, especially about the way cells react to different chemicals.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

To succeed, just pay attention. For me, the book seems mostly obsolete and you could save a good deal of money by not purchasing it. It is only used when preparing for tests, very little of the test is based off of the textbook, and borrowing it from another student for five minutes will give you the time to skim for the needed answers before the test.
