I would recommend this intro geology class because it goes into some detail about the processes the occur on Earth; it's really good if you're interested in this, or you're a science major. If you're a non-science major, it's still very interesting.
I would say that the most memorable thing about this course was learning about the different types of earthquakes that happen, and how shadow zones are created. In my opinion this is pretty basic knowledge but it can be helpful in a lot of different disciplines.

I would say that reading the book is essential; this is a college class and Professor Torres expects some effort to be put forth. However it's not difficult to read or remember for the exam.
