Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because of the wide variety of things you learn. Not only was the class extremely interesting, covering the basis of all the basic principles of Biology that prepare you for higher courses, but the particular professor I had made it interesting and easy to learn. Professor Vance cared more about us learning the material than simple memorizing it, and she went out of her way to make sure every student understood the material. Biology 101 prepared me 100% for the next level Biology course I had to take, Biology 102.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course were learning things relevant to our everyday lives, and being able to apply this knowledge to the lab course. Even if you don't seek a career in the science field, the material you learn in Biology 101, such as genetics, is interesting to anyone simply because you can apply it to yourself and have a better understanding about how you are made and are so individual from everyone else. This was fascinating to me.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would advise students considering this course to attend every class, even when you really dont feel like it, and to take lots of notes. Attending class is essential to learning the material you'll be tested on, and taking good notes will make a massive difference in your scores. Also, study at least a week in advance, so you can memorize the material AND learn it well enough to be prepared for whatever question your professor might ask you. Every professor tests differently, and some are very specific when it comes to the things they cover in lecture.
