Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

At first, I didn't think I needed this course, but after working in the healthcare field, I have found that this course has been very informative in my career choice.

    Course highlights:

This course helped me to understand how the body works. Even if you are not in the healthcare field, you can benefit from this course because we all have had a loved one who may have had health issues. Being able to understand the medical terms that healthcare professionals communicate to you, will help you be more active in your loved ones healthcare needs.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

To be successful, it is important that you take notes. It is also a good idea to get in the habit of reading over those notes when you get home from class. If you wait a couple of days to study, it may seem as though you are relearning the material all over again.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

Very informative and interesting. However , it's time consuming making a study schedule is the best way to keep up with work. Make flash cards to memorize correct spelling ,and use a model to practice labeling body parts.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about the nervous system. That was my favorite topic. The group work was fun as well practicing the spelling of words because if the spelling is wrong you won't receive credit.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

Have a plan when taking this class. Dedicate 3 hours every night to studying. Do not miss class, and take notes. Also, come up with ways to remember the location of things using the prefixes or suffixes in the vocabulary.

Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

In the fall of 2016, I took BIO210 with Professor Lee at Trident Technical College. Although I thought I was going to struggle with the 7-week course, Professor Lee made learning the material easy and efficient. She is an excellent instructor and makes sure her students strive academically. Throughout the course, she provided extra help to all of her students in order to see them do well in the course. She made Anatomy and Physiology seem not so scary by helping her students enormously. If you are able to attend Trident Technical College, make sure to take Professor Lee for BIO 210. She makes the course fun, enjoyable, and exciting to learn.

    Course highlights:

The highlights of this course was definitely the lab procedures. We went from labeling a majority of the bones in the body, to dissecting a sheep's brain. Not only was the material given to you in the textbook, it was also provided throughout power points, study guides, and through hands on activities--which was great for me because I learn better that way. I learned not only the anatomy of our body and body systems, but the physiology and why organs function the way they do. We mainly focused on the endocrine, nervous, digestive, skeletal, respiratory, and reproductive system. However, we covered the other systems of the body, as well. Even though I thought the amount of information would have been hard to attain, Professor Lee made the course easy to remember.

    Hours per week:

    12+ hours

    Advice for students:

For this course, my advise to you, is to read the material, read the material again, and read the material again. It is a pretty straight forward concept, but most of us fail to do. In order to be successful in this course, you have to read before class, listen to the lecture, and then reread again. Throughout the course, it is wise to make flash cards, as well. Flash cards and other study methods really help when trying to study for the final exam. If you have any question, please do not hesitate to ask. Most of the time, other students have the same questions you do. So for this course, read the material, make flash cards, and do not be afraid to ask questions when things get unclear.
