Not too easy. Not too difficult.

    Course Overview:

While this class is a requirement at Winthrop I would still recommend taking this class. This class focuses on helping you figure out how to think in a more logical manner. By this I mean this class helps you analyze and understand why you think a certain way as well as how you arrived to a conclusion to a situation.

    Course highlights:

The class discussions are the highlight for me. I found it very interesting to get feedback from my fellow classmates and as everyone is different the answers and examples from them varied from each other and people with similar thoughts always added to an earlier answer.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

As the name of the class implies you will be writing papers for this class. I recommend that you either get a tutor for this class before your first paper is due or wait to see what your grade is first to see if you need a tutor. It never hurts to have someone who can read and double check your papers.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend taking this course with Professor Bickford because the way she teaches this class is just awesome. CRTW is a class that makes you think about your thinking, which doesn't make sense at first but once you take the class you can see how your thinking just evolves. Your thinking isn't just "basic", but it's deeper, and more in depth and also makes you a better writer. I feel that this class can really help an individual all around in all their classes because the writing techniques used in class can be used in any class.

    Course highlights:

Students are challenged in this course to analyze their thinking and then being able to voice their opinion and then finding evidence to back up their thinking. Almost like debating through pencil and paper and trying to persuade the reader to agree with their opinion.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Just be prepared to write and the professors lay out exactly what they want, it's just the simple fact of listening to what they want and giving it to them.
