    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

This course challenged you and forced you to grow in your faith. Through the class discussions, the readings, or the lectures, I learned more about my faith (and myself) than I expected. Professor Swanson is a genius and he is incredibly open-minded, he is one of my favorite professors at Augustana--take a class with him! You will not regret it.

    Course highlights:

I assumed that growing up in an ELCA church would give me an advantage, but it pushed me to challenge many of the stories that I grew up with. While it was demanding and I did put in a lot of long hours, it was incredibly rewarding.

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

Do not give up! There are moments when it seems easier to focus on the mistakes and you feel incredibly unfit for the course, but meet with Professor Swanson or find a group to study with. It will be OK!

    Pretty easy, overall.

    Course Overview:

Religion 110 gives you an overview of the bible and how to interpret it in different ways. Professor Haar is a wonderful teacher and loves to go above and beyond what is just written on paper.

    Course highlights:

In this course you learn different themes in the bible and how to interpret them. You also read different primary readings that deal with faith and the loss of faith.

    Hours per week:

    3-5 hours

    Advice for students:

Do the readings. There is a lot of in class discussion in this course and quizzes.

    This class was tough.

    Course Overview:

I would recommend this course because this was a very eye opening class for me. The way that my professor had spoke about was so brilliant and so inspiring that it really did impact my faith in a very profound way.

    Course highlights:

I learned a lot about the the Bible and how the people in the Bible thought or learned. The highlights were the lectures because they were so fascinating!

    Hours per week:

    6-8 hours

    Advice for students:

I would tell them to read the material to the best of their ability and to really apply themselves. I know that it is hard for some people especially with religon, but they need to really buckle down in order to do this class.
